Clinical Hypnotherapy with Linda Adams
A gentle, evidence-informed complement to talk therapy. Clinical hypnotherapy works with the deeper layers of your mind to ease anxiety, break ingrained habits, quiet the inner critic, and support lasting change — all while you remain fully in control.
Nothing like stage magic — just focused, therapeutic calm
Clinical hypnotherapy is a recognised therapeutic technique that uses focused attention and deep relaxation to access the parts of your mind where habits, anxieties and automatic patterns live. You stay awake, aware and in complete control throughout — hypnotherapy simply quietens the inner chatter so change can happen more easily.
Linda uses it alongside evidence-based psychology, not instead of it. For many clients it’s the missing piece that helps talk therapy land more deeply — especially for long-standing patterns that logic alone hasn’t shifted.

What a session looks like
We start with understanding
Like every session with Linda, we begin with conversation — understanding what you'd like to shift and whether hypnotherapy is the right fit for you.
Focused relaxation
Linda guides you into a calm, focused state. You stay aware and in control throughout — it simply quiets the chatter so deeper patterns can be gently addressed.
Integration & practice
You leave with insights and simple practices. Hypnotherapy works best as part of a broader plan, so it's often combined with standard counselling sessions.
Common questions about hypnotherapy
Will I be asleep or unconscious?
No. You remain awake and aware throughout. Hypnotherapy is a state of focused relaxation — you can open your eyes, speak, and end the session any time.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Most people can enter a useful state of focused relaxation. Linda tailors the approach to you, and clinical hypnotherapy is always part of a considered therapeutic plan.
Is it covered by Medicare or private health?
Hypnotherapy sessions with an AHPRA-registered psychologist may attract Medicare rebates where a Mental Health Treatment Plan applies to an eligible condition. We'll talk through your options before booking.
Do I have to stop my current counselling?
Not at all — hypnotherapy usually complements talk therapy rather than replacing it. Many clients blend the two, and Linda can guide what makes sense for you.
